Whether you're a beginner or expert yoga instructor, the yoga retreat is the ideal praise to a calming holiday and self-transformation.

World Peace Yoga School inspires you to listen to your body and will guide you through your own individual transformation. You will learn tools to change your lifestyles positively; Hatha yoga, Ashtanga yoga, pranayama, and meditation.

"The meaning of the self is not to be found in its separateness from God and others, but in the ceaseless realization of yoga, of a union." said Rabindranath Tagore, a writer. World Peace Yoga School is a community of soulful individuals who are deeply inspired by yoga's eternal message of unity and peace.

Yoga is not just a tool, but a path that leads spiritual seekers on a never-ending and constantly-evolving journey into consciousness, mindfulness, and awareness. Peace is always within every human being. Through yoga, you remember yourself and you discover the peace that has always been inside you. Your real self-does do not change because your real nature is simply peace.

Yoga is a pathless path. It is a movement without any destination, an effortless effort. The founder, Yogi Vishnu, came to Rishikesh to not only teach yoga but to teach the sacred yogic way of life. In addition to awarding students with teaching certificates, World Peace Yoga School also gives them the strong foundation to become yoga masters.

They believe that a yoga teacher is a teacher of love, a teacher of compassion and not only a teacher of techniques. World Peace Yoga School seeks to inspire you so you can then inspire others. In this four days yoga journey, students will be taught traditional Hatha yoga, Ashtanga yoga as well as pranayama techniques to breathe correctly, rhythmically, deeply, and slowly to stimulate the inner peace and inner awareness.

Meditation practices are also incorporated to train the mind or induce a mode of consciousness so that students can achieve not only the physical awareness but also mental, emotional, and spiritual self-development.

Their yoga school utilizes the healing power of mother nature to help the guests enhance their yoga practice and strengthen their connection to the higher consciousness. Daily morning yoga classes, morning meditation classes, mantra chanting, yogic Kriyas (yoga detox), and sacred fire rituals are some of the things which set them apart from the other yoga schools in Rishikesh.

Here at world peace yoga school, they provide their yoga retreat residents with the purity of nature and facilitate purification of the self through a sattvic diet and balancing yoga practices scheduled in one of their four beautiful indoor yoga studios. Every Thursday, students are shown inspiring documentaries on yoga.

How To Get There

Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). From there, you take a domestic flight to Dehradun Airport (DED) which usually costs around 40 to 60 USD. Transfer from the Dehradun Airport (DED) is included. World Peace Yoga School will pick you up from the airport. You can also take the taxi from the airport to Laxman Jhula which costs around 16 USD.

Depending on the time your plane arrives in Delhi, this can be a tricky option. Volvo buses (best condition) from Delhi to Rishikesh stop running around 9:00 p.m. at night. If your plane arrives in Delhi around evening time, you will have to get a hotel for the night and then make your way to Delhi ISBT (Interstate Bus Terminus) in the morning.

From the airport, get a prepaid taxi to take you to Delhi ISBT. Only go to the government approved taxi stand located right outside the airport exit. The price from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Delhi ISBT will be 600 INR. Once you arrive at Delhi ISBT, navigate your way to the bus station's ticket stands on the second level (go up the escalator). Go to the Uttarakhand State booth and ask when the next Volvo bus (best quality) will be leaving for Rishikesh. That bus ticket should cost between 600 - 800 INR.

Make sure to ask the bus driver or bus director where they drop off at Rishikesh. You should depart from the bus at Rishikesh Bus Station (there's only one) which is usually their last stop if their destination is Rishikesh. Once you arrive at Rishikesh Bus Station, find an auto rickshaw (tuk tuk) to take you to Laxman Jhula at World Peace Yoga School (Tapovan Resort).

Another good option is to travel by train. You go from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to New Delhi train station by car. Then, take the train to Haridwar. Then, from Haridwar, you go to Rishikesh by car. Travel by bus is quite cheap but a bit inconvenient for first-time visitors.
